The Barley Procurement Coordinator (Scotland) will execute the Compnay's sourcing strategy to ensure the supply of malting barley for our two maltings in Scotland. The post holder report to the UK Barley Procurement Manager and will be involved in the budgeting and forecasting processes and will support the development of the procurement strategy in Scotland.
Building strong working relationships with stakeholders is crucial to the success of the role. The post holder will work closely with internal stakeholders including the Operations and Sales teams. By developing excellent on-going communications and a regular exchange of information you will play a crucial role in ensuring that we meet our customer requirements in full in terms of both volume and quality.
Externally you will maintain and develop our relationships with our suppliers and from time to time support the Sales team in customer meetings. As part of the role you will be required to engage bodies such as trade associations and be involved in the evaluation of new barley varieties.
The post holder will monitor the Scottish grain markets and will share updates and market data and intelligence internally.
A key tool of the role is the Compnay's ERP system, it is anticipated that the post holder will take the lead for the procurement team in the development and execution of this system.

The role is based at our maltings in Buckie, however, there will be a requirement to travel from time to time to visit other sites, customers and suppliers.
The candidate we are looking for will have a degree in agriculture / agribusiness or similar discipline or has gained knowledge through work experience. A knowledge of agricultural / cereal markets is advantageous.
IT literacy is important especially in the use of Excel and experience in the use of ERP systems is beneficial.
Motivated and a self-starter the successful candidate will be able to multitask. Working in a small team environment we require someone who has the skills to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
