Systems Architect - Combat Systems A Systems Architect with DOORS and MODAF experience is required to work on a twelve month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client> based in Portsmouth Overview of the Systems Architect contract role Provide independent architecting advice and guidance on Combat System Architectures for NCSISS activities supporting DE&S. Provide systems engineering and technical support to NCSISS combat system architecting activities. Support MCS CSDA direction towards service based architectures while evolving the architecture to include functional and non-functional changes. Ensuring scope and timescales are adhered to. Participate in the NCSISS Combat System architecting activities to develop and maintain Combat System Architecting Models. Build effective relationships with the customer and internal stakeholders to deepen understanding of requirements/problems and raise timely awareness of change. Conduct workshops and formal meetings capturing the context and impact of new capability insertions to the extent that it is possible to map to CSAM. Conduct analysis in support of modelling activities to establish implications on service based architecture vision and capture output. Understand customer requirements to allow generation of SRD requirement text for inclusion in DOORS. Take ownership of tasking when allocated as Task/Team lead and drive through to conclusion utilising allocated resource appropriately. Keep abreast of CS advances and major system changes in order to remain current and competent (identify and attend training acquaints and in house briefings as appropriate). Identify suitable analysis training needs as new capabilities are identified. Provide succint and accurate and timely reports as requested by the Customer. Participate in meetings, reviews and workshops as required by the Customer and external stakeholders. Apply engineering governance to daily activities and seek to improve processes through establishment of best practice. Apply local good practice to daily work through utilisation of the NCSISS Shared Records area and keeping good track of documentation amendments. Knowledge of Combat System lifecycles through to trials activities and post trials analysis. Knowledge of current and future Combat System Architectures.
