Software Tester / Test Implementation Specialist / User Acceptance Tes

Our client, who is a leading instrumentation specialist in the Life Sciences Sector, has an opening for a Software Tester / Test Implementation Specialist / User Acceptance Tester to join the busy QA department in Sheffield. Reporting to the Quality Director the position involves testing their industry standard software against set word test scripts.

Software Testing is performed primarily using manual Word test scripts which the successful candidate will be responsible for in terms of compiling, maintaining and running both. Some automated testing is being performed within the department using Test Complete which is completed using Jscript, therefore some knowledge of Jscript would be advantageous but not essential.

You will work closely with the Software Development team and have a high level of attention to detail.

Communication skills are essential across all levels as the role will require the candidate to communicate with senior management as well as developers during regular development meetings as well as customers.

You will have experience in using specialist Scientific Equipment in any environment, and have knowledge of Scientific process.

Although based in Sheffield, the Software Tester / Test Analyst would require some occasional travel to visit to other offices as well as some travel to perform validations at our customer's facilities both in the UK and abroad.

The position would also suit someone who has either a science background who wishes to move into software validations, or someone who has experience with testing software and has an interest in science.

The role is also open to Graduates with a Science Based Degree who have some Laboratory Experience.

A full Driving Licence is required.
