We are looking for a highly organised and self-motivated person to join Devon County Council’s well-regarded Public Rights of Way Team.
The County Council is responsible for over 5,000 kilometres of public rights of way and manages a large network of recreational trails including the Tarka Trail, Exe Estuary Trail and the South West Coast Path National Trail.
Your primary role will be to assist with the processing of public path orders, temporary closures and other legal and administrative processes involved in the management of the public rights of way network.
You will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to quickly respond to changing priorities whilst maintaining close attention to detail and possess excellent administrative and organisational skills. Ideally, you will also have some knowledge of legal systems relating to rights of way.
You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to:
Work as a member of the team within a busy office environment;
- Pay attention to detail;
- Prioritise your own workload;
- Work to deadlines;
- Use initiative;
- Have careful and precise record keeping skills, and produce work of a high standard;
- Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office and effectively utilise technology and IT systems;
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
Working within a friendly and supportive team, you will play a vital role in helping to manage and protect Devon’s rights of way network.
