PBX Support Engineer

I am currently working with an industry-leading, award winning Telecommunications Company based within the Basingstoke area - they are currently looking to take on experienced PBX Support engineer that can provide fast, friendly and accurate support. Due to continued growth my client are looking to expand the technical support team and invite applications from experienced engineers possessing a real passion for IT and technology with experience or a strong desire to cross-train into telephony systems implementation, upgrades and support.
Key responsibilities:
* You will possess and demonstrate the ability and motivation to become a technical subject matter champion who can gain the trust and respect of the business and customers
* Provide hardware and software technical support for several telephony platforms, remotely via telephone and email and on-site where required
* Facilitate root cause analysis of system issues and apply appropriate resolutions
* System configuration changes, monitoring and upgrading adhering to SLA's
* Produce and maintain detailed documentation, including comprehensive logging via CRM system

Essential / Desirable Software Skills and Experience:
* Strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems - Server & Desktop
* Demonstrable knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN's & WAN's
* Experience of at least one of the following NEC, Avaya, Samsung, Panasonic, SpliceCom, Siemens PBX solutions including UC and call centres applications - full training will be provided where necessary
* Understanding of VoIP, SIP, RTP, TCP & UDP protocols, Layer 2 and 3 routing, VLAN's and QOS and familiarity with using tools such as Wireshark
* Excellent customer service skills, with an ability to liaise with customers in an empathic and technically effective manner via written and oral communication
* Ability to work both individually and within a team environment
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a tenacious personality as problems can be complex and involved
* Strong organisational skills to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced, demanding environment
* Enthusiastic and 'can do' attitude with high attention to detail and a passion for accuracy
* Possess a natural initiative and pro-activeness, with a flexible mind and attitude together with the ability to communicate complex issues and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels in an organisation
* Be part of the 24/7 out of hours rota to provide a professional service to our customers
* Willingness to stay away if required to complete work were appropriate.
* Full clean UK driving license
