JOB TITLE: Project Officer

LOCATION: Kingston upon Thames

PAY RATE: GBP305 per day (via an Umbrella Company)

START DATE: ASAP

DURATION: 6 months

Project Officer (VCSE review)

RBK is looking for a highly organised Project Officer to support delivery of one of the Council's corporate priorities - a review of voluntary and community sector commissioning. This role will manage the project plan and work with colleagues across the Council to ensure activity is delivered on time. They postholder will take the lead for organising and promoting events and workshops. The post will also develop a database of key contacts in order to support the development of a stakeholder engagement and communications plan.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we have a brand new Chief Executive and an ambitious Administration. This means change and transformation is high on the agenda and this role will support and enable the development of a number of strategic objectives.

Priorities

* Develop and keep up-to-date a comprehensive project plan
* Develop a stakeholder map
* Develop a database of key contacts
* Produce regular updates/briefs for a variety of stakeholders (both internal and external)
* Schedule and organise engagement events
* Provide administrative support for project groups/boards
* Produce project updates and reports as required
* Work with data analyst to produce baseline of spend

The ideal candidate will:

* Have strong organisational and project management skills
* Good written and verbal communications skills
* Experience of supporting meetings/boards
* Experience of organising and supporting workshops
* Good numeracy skills
* Understanding of local democracy and decision making
* Knowledge and awareness of the voluntary and community sector (and the challenges)
* High level of attention to detail
* Able to work independently
* Has strong stakeholder management skills
* Be able to provide effective challenge to senior stakeholders
* Be curious, creative and solution focussed
