Our client is a growing award-winning, planning consultancy. They have a proven track record in the industry and extensive knowledge on a variety of work from regeneration schemes, large city-wide projects to rural projects.

They have a current vacancy for a Chartered Town Planner to join their South Yorkshire based team to lead a wide range of planning work, primarily on major development projects and to play a lead role in developing the planning business.

The successful applicant will be responsible for business development, project management and delivery, as well as working with the team across our range of projects within Scotland and the rest of the UK.
- To direct or manage the production of project documents to the highest standard in accordance with project timescales, in relation to planning applications; planning policy analysis; input into planning appeals/public inquiries; site appraisal work; discharging conditions; and any other planning work as required.
- To work with EIA Practitioners in the management, production and editing of environmental statement chapters, and non-technical summaries
- To play a pro-active and leading role in developing new clients and new proposal opportunities. To engage in effective planning marketing activities on a regular basis.
- Taking a lead role in the management and development of the planning business, including team management, generating opportunities and winning new business.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent verbal and written communication ability, together with the following essential skills;

A full Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
Proven knowledge of UK planning legislation, regulations and guidance.
Business development experience
Creativity, foresight and mature planning judgement in anticipating and solving problems.
Experience of working with a multidisciplinary team.
Full Driving License

Commutable areas Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Wakefield, Chesterfield, Scunthorpe, Worksop, Huddersfield.
