Engie Fabricom are recruiting for a Legal Assistant to be based in Stokesley. This is a permanent full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary & benefits package.
General Overview for the Legal Assistant Role:
The Legal Assistant will support the Senior Commercial Manager by performing clerical and administrative work that requires knowledge of legal terms, documents, and procedures.
Working side-by-side with the Senior Commercial Manager, the Legal Assistant will pro-actively assist in ensuring that the contracts of the business are administered in order to ensure compliance, to mitigate risk and to develop long-term client relationships.
The Legal Assistant will support the Senior Commercial Manager to minimise contract risk, manage and negotiate variations in contracts, control costs, compile audit and Management Information reporting, engage in both dispute resolution and final account negotiation, as well as involvement in supply chain management.
Roles and Responsibilities for the Legal Assistant Role:
* Prepares a variety of legal documents under the guidance of the Senior Commercial Manager and Company management.
* Support in claims and legal proceedings, collecting evidence, compiling artefacts, consolidating facts, preparing documents, and tracking cases.
* Diligent and ethical research
* Maintaining professional, timely and proper communication with internal and external stakeholders
* Cataloguing and archiving of legal and contractual data, information and documentation in-line with the Data Protection Act, and Company policy, process and protocol.
* Scheduling and minute-taking at meetings
* Pro-active familiarisation with Engineering Construction contracts and practices, case law, and best practice.
* Preparation of briefs, as required.
* Organise files and supporting documents.
* Verify information provided as appropriate.
* Ensure relevant administrative tasks are dealt with efficiently
* Manage and maintain databases.
* Ensure smooth flow of information throughout departments.
* Monitor costs.
* Provide occasional administrative supervision.

* Experience working in a legal setting.

* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Can communicate skills, knowledge and experience, and apply them professionally as a trusted expert.
* Occasional flexible working required.
* Some UK travel.
* In-depth technical knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, guidelines. systems and processes.
