Introduction
I am currently working with a market leader within the parcel sortation and delivery systems based in Hertfordshire and due to double digit growth are now in a position to add to their Field Service Engineering team. If you are an enthusiastic and passionate Engineer and looking for a forward thinking company this could be the opportunity you have been looking for. The ideal candidate must have both an Electrical and Mechanical background with an electrical bias and the experience of working on high speed lines in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods business. As part of this role you will be required to work Days - Monday to Friday. The hours of work are 7am to 4pm.
While the role is technically based at the Head Office in Hertfordshire, around 80% of the Field Engineer's time will be spent working across our sites in the UK, Europe and (initially) North America. Ability and flexibility to travel will therefore be crucial.
Key Accountabilities
* You will be responsible for installation, service and breakdown work on conveyor systems and sortation equipment / machines
* 50% installation work, 50% service & breakdown.
* Electrical work will include sensors, electrical wiring and control systems such as PLCs.
* You may be required to go into the workshop from time to time.
* Networking with clients to understand their machinery requirements.
Experience
Electrical Biased Engineer, ideally having served a recognised apprenticeship or other formal training, maturity, organised, able to undertake repair and installation of conveyor systems and sortation equipment / machines. You will have strong diagnostic ability and excellent communication skills to compliment your technical ability.
Experience with conveyor system, sortation machines and automated machines is preferred but specific equipment training will be provided for the right candidate.
Qualifications
HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 in electrical engineering
Skills and Knowledge
Customer Focused, must be able to communicate at all levels and gain the trust and respect of customers.
Computer and General Literacy must be able to compile service and visit reports and be able to use MS Word, Outlook and Excel software.
Driving Licence, must have clean full driving licence.
