Buyer
Location: Leighton Buzzard
Duration: 3 months (possible extensions)
Rate: GBP25.00 per hour (Ltd Co)
Are you a Buyer looking for their next contract? Do you want to work within an Aerospace environment? If so this could be the perfect contract for you.
Buyer Responsibilities
As the Buyer you will sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of the organisation.
You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) with excellent interpersonal skills.
As the Buyer the main part of the role will be Processing Orders.
Negotiate and place purchase orders of all electrical components and consumables in line with production and business requirements.
To expedite orders in accordance with purchase order requirements.
Work with suppliers to communicate and improve deliveries, update systems accordingly.
Review and develop existing suppliers, negotiate contracts with new suppliers.
Management of supplier performance including development plans and reviews in line with company quality system, reviewing current KPI's for suppliers and creation of new ones.
Dealing with supplier enquiries and acknowledgements.
Searching for new suppliers to increase supply base, improve costs and reduce spend and delivery lead times.
Buyer Requirements
As a Buyer you will have experience in the Aerospace Materials/Supply Chain or similar environment with a good basic knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems and reports
Proven track record of achievement in a relevant position.
Demonstrable background of purchasing in a manufacturing environment, ideally of aerospace components.
Strong negotiation and excellent communication skills.
Understanding of inventory management processes and practice.
Good personal organisation and motivation abilities, self-managed.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to interface at all levels with internal contacts as well as customers and suppliers.
Commercially astute, able to negotiate with suppliers to get best value.
Proactive and focused.
Understanding of engineering drawings would be an advantage
