Nelson Permanent Placements are looking for an experienced Buyer to work with one of our reputable clients based in Driotwich.
Are you from a Manufacturing background looking to join a company who is a renowned specialist commercial vehicle manufacturer?
* You will have a minimum of 5 years working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
* You will work closely with the Procurement Manager and the shop floor to ensure production schedules meet customer order expectations.
* A high level of communication skills are required as well as the ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally.
* You will be responsible for the purchase and delivery of materials needed to fulfil production requirements without incurring premium costs and downtime.
* To maintain the system and create the subsequent maintenance of BOM lists that are issued for picking kits to stores and then delivered to production.
* To ensure compliance administration in all areas of purchasing, inventory of stock levels and sourcing materials is completed.
Duties:
* Effective purchase of material and supplies for the manufacturing operation.
* To implement and maintain the process of the return of goods to suppliers.
* Track material shortages, expedite material when needed, and chase order confirmations.
* Help manage the BOM list and maintain.
* Review and maintain the Sage 200 system.
* Follow up engineering changes including necessary communication with suppliers and other departments.
* To manage the stocktake and implement processes to maintain correct stock levels.
* Maintain and produce production schedule requirements and changes.
* Assist accounts payable on discrepancies relating to credit, scheduling agreements, invoicing and pricing issues.
* Provide back up for colleagues in the supply chain operation.
