BASED AT: In North West Leicestershire Community and at VASL, Torch House, Market Harborough, LE16 9HL

RESPONSIBLE TO: Carers Service Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Volunteers

SALARY GRADE: £20,000 to £22,000 per annum pro rata

HOURS: Part time: 18 hours (full time equivalent is 37 hours)

FIXED TERM: 2 +1 - year fixed term contract

Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL) is a local charity based in Market Harborough. We are looking for someone to join our Support for Carers team who is passionate about carers. We describe a carer as someone who looks after a family member, friend or neighbour, that could not manage without their support. Caring can be isolating, emotionally draining, financially debilitating and impact on their own health as well as rewarding.

VASL’s Support for Carers Leicestershire, support carers through a dedicated telephone helpline (Monday to Friday), running carers support groups around the county, partnership working with other organisations and directly liaising with health professionals.

We are looking for a part-time Carers Wellbeing Officer to identify and support carers within their patch and to deliver all aspects of Support for Carers Leicestershire services to a consistently high standard as set-out in the service contract. You will be working with a welcoming, sociable and hardworking team and will be expected to be enthusiastic and organised with good working knowledge of Excel and databases.
