Our client is a well respected farming group operating to the highest standards for provision of premium products. The company promotes from within wherever possible across multiple sites in Yorkshire and the surrounding counties. They supply premium meats and organic items to leading outlets with additional arable operations.
This role is a rare opportunity to progress your career in agriculture and you will be offered responsibility for:
Consistently meeting livestock welfare standards
Achieving production targets and meeting KPIs
Maintaining assurance scheme standards
Managing strong relationships with staff, clients, suppliers
Completion of all related records and administration
Liaising closely with the Herd Manager who will offer you support and guidance during your induction and beyond
Additional duties include:
Line management of staff, recruitment and induction training
Developing your team's skills and identifying areas for training/career growth, plus appraisals
HSE legislation and all related compliance
You will be offered full responsibility for your breeding unit and all livestock therein, including:
Biosecurity
Health of animals
Maintenance of equipment, tractors, vehicles, machinery
Ideally you will have prior experience in agriculture, as an agricultural manager, breeding unit manager or senior farm worker/manager. You will bring a strong understanding of livestock and related production issues and be willing to streamline and improve processes where necessary.You will work to review SOPs and to oversee the efficient, hygienic and safe running of the unit, team and livestock at all times.
