A leading housing organisation is looking for an experienced Housing Visiting Officer to be responsible for completing home visits to tenants of council owned properties in order to capture up to date information. Information gathered at these visits will be used to provide tailored support to tenants and develop a better understanding of our tenants' needs; ultimately assisting with shaping housing management services.

To ensure that successful visits to tenants capture all relevant information, identify any safeguarding matters or vulnerabilities.

To develop a working relationship with relevant teams and services in order to facilitate meaningful referrals that support our tenants.

To ensure that council policies, performance standards and customer satisfaction requirements are met.

To refer concerns of safeguarding to the Neighbourhood Officer and to relevant support services.

To provide general advice and support to residents whilst carrying out Home Check visits or refer to the relevant team when appropriate.

Manage the expectations of residents, keeping them informed of progress and agreeing a timetable for completing any follow up actions that arise from visits.

To provide details and record tenant feedback suggestions for future planned maintenance or investment works.

To refer any suspected fraud cases to the Neighbourhood Team and Cooperate Investigation Group in a timely manner.

Promote fire safety in homes, where relevant refer tenants to the Housing Management Fire Safety Team and make appropriate referrals to London Fire Brigade.

To carry out a visual inspection of the property, checking for any repairs and maintenance issues.

Ensure that the recording of information and data is accurate and effective on our internal systems.

To clearly identify good practice methods or gaps in service delivery in order to assist with improving services for our residents.

Provide a caring and professional customer experience at point of contact.

Support residents in accessing services.

Capture household information, including occupancy details, employment status and disabilities. In order to ensure that tenants are adequately supported.

Increase data on property conditions to assist Property Services with asset and compliance planning.

Mitigate the risk associated with disrepair and poor property conditions. Where there are cases of poor property conditions or possible disrepair, to refer to Repairs and Neighbourhood Team and ensure that residents are provided with support and feedback on these issues.

Identify residents who may be vulnerable and ensure they have appropriate support in place to address any direct welfare risks or risks to their ability to sustain their tenancy.

To identify relevant support for residents and make necessary referrals to appropriate services, such as, employment support, resident engagement and financial wellbeing.

Pay rate is 18.21 per hour
