A large manufacturing plant in the heart of Essex are seeking a permanent laboratory technician (on a part time basis) to join their team.

This is a permanent position which has arisen due to a member of staff within their team who is retiring.

Hours of work:
This is a 21-hour week, working Saturday, Sunday and one weekday of your choice, the working hours are from 9:00am 5:00pm.

Overview of job:
In this position you will be required to report to the laboratory supervisor daily and provide accurate quality control samples.

Candidate Responsibilities
Carrying out COSHH assessments on-site as chemical products are used daily
Doing risk assessments for different procedures
Performing routing QC analysis
Updating of Analytical methods and being aware of customer requirements
Understanding the companies quality management system, laboratory based
Inputting results to in-house database and updating records as and when required
Managing of sample stores for analysis and internal/external audits
Performing testing on products carrying out analytical measurements
Required to train any new members of staff/students
Partake in routine laboratory meetings

Applicant requirements:
GCSE or equivalent in maths or Chemistry (essential)
Understanding of the malting process
Good knowledge of HACCP and FEMAS
