Our client is looking for a QC Analyst for their Ellesmere Port and Goole sites in the UK. Working Monday to Friday day shifts, located at either the Ellesmere Port or Goole site, the role covers both sites and requires working days at both sites on a weekly basis as required by the needs of the business.

The primary focus of the role is to ensure that final products produced at both the Goole and Ellesmere port plants comply with specifications. You will perform quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses according to established scientific methods to ensure quality of the raw materials, in process products, and finished products. You will complete testing of finished product and other samples to defined procedures and enter data into the site databases. Samples will be completed in compliance with the quality management system.

You will perform routine analysis of raw materials involving basic wet chemistry methods, complete regular tasks such as calibrations, equipment checks and maintenance and stock checks, ensuring reagents are available at all times whilst ensuring that health and safety standards and company policies are being met and maintained. You will work safely within the laboratory environment, carry out COSHH and risk assessments of processes and implement new or updated analysis methods and train the employees at each site.

In addition, you will be working with other team members to ensure efficient flow of samples, providing technical support to operators/plant managers and reporting analytical data to senior management on request. You will also be involved in project work as required.

What you need:

Educated to Chemistry or related science degree or equivalent preferred/or relevant experience as below.

Previous experience in a laboratory role, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment or similar.

MS Office IT skills are essential. SAP experience would be an advantage.

Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Able to work independently to organise your own workload to meet deadlines.

Full UK drivers license and own vehicle for travel to sites (business mileage to be claimed)
