Our Water & Environment operating unit comprising over 1200 environmental staff provides advice for our clients on sustainability and environmental issues. The Arboriculture discipline sits with the Landscape team, whilst working alongside other disciplines such as Ecology, Planning and Environmental Science.

The successful candidate will be required to support the senior team on a broad range of project deliverables and be able to work well in a team environment.

The Arboriculture workload includes a mix of major infrastructure and regeneration based commissions in both the public and private sectors providing advice and collaborative working within the diverse range of technical disciplines offered at Jacobs.

As an arboricultural consultant the successful candidate will be an organised and self-motivated individual capable of operating well within a team.

Qualifications

Essential:

*

An academic qualification in arboriculture (minimum level 2).

*

Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment and develop positive working relationships.

*

Experience of BS5837 surveying and data capture

*

Excellent English communication skills - both verbal and written.

*

Good working knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Outlook and Excel.

*

All-round technical knowledge of modern arboriculture with a some practical experience.

*

Experience of professional report writing and ability to analyse and present data.

*

Willingness to work away from your base office.

*

Possess a high level of personal responsibility and have a flexible adaptable approach to different project's requirements.

*

Applicants are required to possess a relevant work permit for the UK.

Desirable:

*

Experience of working within an environmental consultancy.

*

Experience in communicating directly with clients

*

An understanding of planning with respect to the EIA process.

*

Experience of arboricultural data capture software (GIS/CAD based).

*

Full UK driving licence
