Degree-Six Recruitment are currently looking for a specialist SEND Teaching Assistants to work within a Complex Needs school in Leicester on a part time basis. The school is currently looking for additional part time bank staff to support additional requirements of students as well as general sickness cover. The role would be highly suited to somebody looking for part time work as you would be able to pick the days you work each work.
For this role, the successful candidate must have:
- Experience of working within a similar setting
- Experience of supporting/working with students on any of the following SEN Spectrums - ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD or SEMH.
- Knowledge of the Autism spectrum
- Available on short notice
- Experience supporting children with physical disabilities
- Knowledge of SEN
- Be able to show reliance in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications (Team Teach desirable)
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach to working
The successful candidate(s) would be required to work within small groups and at times on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional support. You will need to have a proactive approach to use your initiative in situations, although the class teacher will offer you constant support and guidance. The students you work with will have varied needs including Autism and physical disabilities. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff will be key.
