This is an exciting opportunity to join the team operating the City of Lincoln Council’s CCTV system as a CCTV Relief Operator. The contract is a guaranteed minimum of 400 annualised hours working across a 24 hour shift system
The system recently underwent a complete upgrade making it one of the most up to date local authority CCTV system in the country with high specification cameras and technology.
The role is to cover shifts when operators take annual leave and other shifts as required. The system operates a 24 hour rolling shift pattern covering days, lates, nights and weekend work. The successful candidates will be expected to cover shifts across the 24 hour pattern. Cover shifts are allocated to Relief Operators with as much notice as possible, target is minimum of four weeks’ notice with the exception of emergency cover for such issues as sick leave.
Unsocial shift allowances are in place covering the late shifts, night shifts along with all weekend and bank holiday work.
The work involves regular contact with emergency services and city centre partners to help maintain a safe and welcoming city centre environment, the monitoring of incidents on camera, some of which are emotionally demanding, including criminal activity, distressed and suicidal individuals and missing people. The work is challenging but rewarding and provides an opportunity to make a real difference to the daily lives of people working and visiting the city.
Full comprehensive training is provided, this training includes the relevant SIA licence provision.
