The Corporate Health and Safety Manager will provide appropriate ‘competent person’ skills, experience and knowledge to enable the Council to meet its health and safety duties across its multi-functional departments.

You will ensure effective arrangements are in place for managing the Council’s Health and Safety risks and ensuring that the Council meets its legal requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, its associated regulations and all other relevant Health and Safety legislation. You will provide regular management reports on Health and Safety performance and ensure that risks across all departments are identified and controlled.

The successful candidate must have significant and recent senior leadership experience in providing the ‘competent person’ Health and Safety role within a large and multi-functional public sector organisation (ideally a local authority setting).
