AlphaPlus is seeking an enthusiastic individual to act as a researcher supporting a range of research and evaluation projects as a member of the research team, which undertakes mixed methods research in UK and international education.
AlphaPlus is an education service business specialising in standards, assessment and certification. We help our clients design, develop, deploy and evaluate qualifications and their underpinning assessments. Our work spans the public and private sectors, schools, colleges, vocational and professional learning. Around half our work is overseas. This post is suitable for holders of a first class or 2:1 honours degree with a significant component in statistics, who can also offer professional experience as a statistician/quantitative researcher in the education sector, preferably with an assessment focus. A Master's degree in research methods or statistics would also be suitable. Candidates must also have strong GCSE and A Level results, including A Level Maths at grade A or B. High level Excel, SPSS and/or R-statistics skills are essential and further training and development will be provided. Basic project management, understanding and a willingness to work flexibly (including on non-statistical project activities) within a team are also essential.
This role is full- time, Monday to Friday, based in Castlefield, Manchester. The role also requires some national travel working in company and customer offices.
