Part Time - 18 hours per week

We are Kent's premier charity for people with disabilities and have been providing care and leisure services for over 70 years. We are located in a 19th Century Victorian Manor House set in 14 acres of beautiful grounds in the picturesque village of Herne, Kent. We are a nursing and residential home offering both long and short-term care for adults aged 18 and upwards. Our home is registered for 55 beds, and we offer a relaxed homely environment for our residents. We are also pleased to be able to offer short-term neuro-rehabilitation and respite care.

You will be responsible for providing Speech and Language Therapy that enables our service users to achieve a level of independence, well-being and choice in line with their aspirations and abilities. You will be joining a supportive and experienced team of therapists who are committed to delivering the very best care to our service users. The team are looking to appoint highly motivated and a conscientious team player who has excellent communication and analytical skills gained through previous experience.

This role would be suited to a practitioner who has previously in their career worked with dysphagia and/or ideally worked with dysphagia associated with neurological conditions or events.

You'll need the following skills and qualities:

+ Be a registered Speech & Language Therapist
+ Have a degree/graduate diploma in Speech & Language Therapy
+ Registered to the Health Professions Council (HCPC)
+ Have a significant level of experience in relevant clinical area, for example, working with people with physical disabilities, long term neurological conditions and/or neuro rehabilitation
+ The ability to communicate effectively with all service users
+ Experience as an SLT Band 6
+ Be passionate about helping people improve their quality of life
+ An interest in working in adult care services
+ Basic computer skills
