DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The new role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthunastic individual who has an interest in working on complex projects and programmes.

We are looking for a Project Officer to help organise and manage the Student Development Seminars (SDS) that we run across the university, and provide students with development sessions (such as, employablity, mental health, academic tutoring, mentoring, career coaching, equality, diversity and inclusion, business entrprise, alumni, volunteering, and SMART).

The Project Officer will also work with us in supporting our Office for Students (OfS) Access funding programme.

The OfS Access funding aims to tackle and eliminate inequalities in higher education by encouraging those that are least likely to participate in higher education to do so and improve those students' opportunities at university. The funding supports students in the areas of access, progression, and success. We are setting up a new evaluation and evidence team to support our institutional approach to access, engagement, progression, retention, and success. We currently fund 40 projects in the university. The Project Officer will be providing project support and working with Project Leads to ensure the smooth running of projects.

The main responsibilities will be to:

Provide support on project management procedures and templates.
Support with the administration process for live projects and programmes.
Work closely with the Programme Manager to assure project plans and documentation are completed/updated.
Work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure projects from The Centre for Student Success run smoothly across the institution.
Log, manage and analyse information on the progress of the projects using Excel.
Organise and manage meetings and events for the projects.
Undertake information gathering to support the project as directed by the Programme Manager.
