Assistant Site Supervisor

GBP23399 - GBP27513 per annum
40 hours p/w
Job purpose
The Assistant Site Supervisor will support the busy Operations team in ensuring the School is ready for events and functions as appropriate. The role facilitates and supports the smooth running of daily school functions. There will be a team of five staff working on a rota, which will include evening and weekend work
The Role
Domestic Duties
* Sweeping and clearing litter from the School site and sports fields (daily)
?? Attending to minor repairs, liaison with contractors and completing meter readings
?? Clearing spillages outside of cleaning contractor hours as required
?? Minibuses
?? To support the home to school bus service, standing in and driving the minibus to cover for any absences
?? To report any problems with the service to the Transport Manager immediately
?? Health and Safety
?? To be a nominated First Aid person
?? To ensure that all Health and Safety a
Grounds/External Areas
* To clean and clear school grounds as required including external paths and hedge areas on a daily basis
?? Assist with snow clearance and gritting of pathways when necessary
?? To clear any lost property/pupil folders to the lost property room
?? Swimming Pool
?? Carry out s
Main responsibilities
The daily duties will consist of scheduled tasks plus delegated duties that are required according to the needs of the School. Flexibility is essential.
?? To offer a high standard of customer service to colleagues, pupils, contractors and visitors to the School at all times
?? To carry out daily duties in a professional, competent, efficient and friendly manner
?? To be a designated key holder for the School
?? To carry a school radio at all times when on shift
?? To be seen to be proactive and actively seeking work
?? Site security
?? Responsible for locking and unlocking the School site and opening and closing buildings (including doors, windows)
?? Setting and reactivating alarms
?? Responding to requests, supporting internal and external events
?? Maintaining a log of incidents
?? To ensure New Fields gates are locked each evening when on shift or when used for an external event ?? Porterage
?? Managing and dealing with incoming / outgoing deliveries as appropriate
?? Sorting and delivering the post on a daily basis in a timely manner
?? Setting up and clearing for school routine events, special functions and lettings
?? Liaising with the Senior Site Supervisor and at times the Lettings Coordinator; seeing visitors on and off the premises and monitoring the use and return of facilities and equipment
?? Placing correct signage for events as required
?? Collecting rubbish and recycling from specific areas and transferring to the allocated recycling/refuse area
?? Providing daily car parking assistance
Experience and skills
Understanding of site security issues
?? Full, clean driving licence (with category D1 preferably)
?? Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative in identifying and solving daily problems and requirements
?? Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, and its application to a safe working environment
?? A basic knowledge of First Aid would be advantageous, but training will be provided for a First Aid at Work qualification
?? A working knowledge of CCTV systems, intruder alarms, access control and fire alarms is desirable, but not essential as training will be given
?? Previous experience of working in a school is desirable but not essential
