The SEO Manager will devise and deliver SEO projects and strategies for a range of clients and will work closely with project coordinators, editors, external agencies and the search team to maximize organic traffic and improve client rankings.

The SEO Manager will implement the SEO strategy to facilitate customer commercialization in accordance with business strategy and lead web governance by monitoring search engine ranking, including the internal verity search engine as well as internet search engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo, and develop search-related reports.

You will ensure delivery of projects according to specifications, cost and timeline by liaising with production and collaborating with other team leads, if necessary; flagging scope and cost creep; resolving or escalating causes of production and approval delays; and providing timely project status reports to clients, ensuring project progress, adherence and risk information is available to business management at all times.

Key Functional Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform keyword research in coordination with client business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of client websites and web pages
  • Provide recommendations and execute/manage strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals - general and keyword specific
  • Liaise with and manage Organic Web Analyst and SEO Copywriter to effectively deliver all aspects of an holistic SEO campaign
  • Implement and administer search engine programs (XML sitemaps, webmaster tools, tracking, etc.)
  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across target territories to create actionable plans
  • Monitor and evaluate web analytics dashboards and reports in order to develop and recommend SEO strategies and effectively report SEO progress
  • Communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results

The minimum requirements for this position:

  • 4+ years experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and have an advanced understanding of the process
  • Experience working with popular keyword tools (Google, WordTracker, Keyword Discovery, etc)
  • Experience working with a variety of CMS's and building/administering content in multiple environments
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administration
  • High-level proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics as well as internal reporting tools
  • Knowledge of PPC programs and optimizing data gathered from both organic and paid sources
