About the job:
• Total capacity of Nursery: 49 place Nursery
• Opening Times: 8.00AM -6.00PM
Leys Children Centre is located within walking distance of an underground station and is also in the grounds of a local school. The nursery has some great features that makes it truly unique, such as the two spacious outdoor play areas with all-weather surfaces which enable free-flow play.
The Chef will be responsible for the running of the kitchen and would provide excellent nutrition for all our children attending that setting. Our menus are designed to be diverse and enticing, using local produce and growing our own fruit and vegetables wherever possible.
About you:
Full and relevant Food Hygiene qualification at level 2 or above.
Preferred knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and how this is monitored in a nursery setting.
Preferred experience working in a Kitchen based in an early year's setting
To understand and promote a healthy lifestyle for our children
To continually strive for best practice in yourself and inspiring others.
To have a passion for making a difference in their communities.
Being passionate about preparing fresh, balanced, nutritious meals for the babies and children in the nursery.
Able to communicate effectively with all nurseries (customers) to ensure correct delivery of meals and snacks the meet the specific needs of children.
Good hygiene practice is essential.
Allergy Awareness and catering qualification is desirable.
A team player with the ability to use own initiative
