Graduate Sales Specialist
Your line manager: Sales Manager
The Role:
Sales Specialists are tasked with growing revenue, traders and the brand presence of their assigned products against agreed targets and KPI's as determined by Northamber and our vendor partners.
You will become the expert and product champion for your product on the sales-floor, acting as a key contact to the vendor, sales floor and commercial team. You will proactively contact customers to build relationships with them to ensure Northamber are their 1st port of call for your product set. You will have regular contact with new and existing customers to inform them of current offers and products.
You will work closely with the commercial team to ensure feedback is built into new offers and all opportunities are maximised.
Whilst you will be focusing on selling your product set into a large breadth of customers you will still be required to play a full role on the sales floor and deliver exceptional customer service by thinking creatively, displaying enthusiasm, being positive and putting customers at the heart of everything you do to achieve the best possible results.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Vendor Support
* Proactively contacting accounts - lapsed, prospect, current spending and resellers focused on competing products - about your products
* Supporting the sales floor in tandem with commercial with any enquiries on your product, including quoting and advising on products for run rate enquiries
* Upselling all quotes, including completed ones to add value
* Tracking renewals (where relevant) and supporting the sales floor to ensure this is done systematically, calling accounts personally to close renewals if necessary
* Following up personally with account managers and if necessary accounts directly on all quotes and allocated stock every 48 hours
* Working with product management to ensure pipeline is maintained and shared weekly with commercial
* Appointment and webinar setting for your products (where relevant)
* Tracking proof of concept, demo follow up and other initiatives on your product set (where relevant)
* Ensuring vendor KPI's are being met including the number of traded accounts
* Using internal data on accounts to proactively drive improvement in slipped and lapsed accounts
* Continually updating and maintaining records of progress in NewView and providing weekly updates to commercial
* Owning responsibility for the accuracy, integrity and completeness of the database
* Participating / leading training sessions for your products
* Attending training sessions provided by your and other vendors to enable you to become a knowledgeable source of information for the sales floor and our customers
* Developing a positive and pro-active relationship with product and other supporting team members within Northamber, your focused vendor and key customers
* Seeking and sharing with commercial information on competitors, in order to benchmark rates and ensure that our bids are competitive, whilst achieving profitability
Sales
* Achieving personal sales and margin target
* Delivering an expert service in your field
* Delivering against organisational and personal KPI's including margin and activity levels
* Developing and maintaining customer relationships
* Developing, qualifying and following up on sales leads with new and existing clients
* Following up e-shots and marketing activities with prospective clients
* Promoting Northamber services and accessories on every sale to increase margin and value
KPI's
* To meet or exceed monthly revenue, market share and margin target.
* To provide a monthly sales forecast to the Sales manager and ensure you pipeline is always up to date
* Meet or exceed minimum phone times and account contacts
* Have account plans for all you accounts
* Growth of trading accounts as defined in plans
* Minimum of 75% of allocated accounts to be traded each month
* Ensure Sales switchboard rings are limited to a max of 3 rings before answering.
* Ensure all your vendor and customer contacts are upto date in our system
* To ensure all your customer's correspondence's are acknowledged and responded to within 2 hours.
* Participate and lead focus call out days
Objectives
* Account maps should be available for all accounts that you manage and all information about your account should always be up to date on the CRM system. Account maps should contain relevant information about account e.g. Size of company, type of business they specialise in, geography covered, numbers of staff, turnover, products sold, products they buy from Northamber, product opportunities to develop, Discounts by products, all contacts - purchasing, sales, divisions, management, other offices.
* To work as part of a team with product / sales management and other internal sales sharing information and maximising effectiveness within the account base, Utilising the team to visit your accounts and ensure you are constantly working toward increasing the product portfolio within you accounts.
* Ensure you have a working knowledge of all products you are able to sell which includes being able to Quote and process an order within 3 months of joining or 1 month after a product launch without the assistance of a product push. If you are unable to meet this requirement escalate to your manager in writing to ensure you receive required training.
* To ensure you are constantly up selling and cross selling
