Programme Leader - Sociology (maternity cover)

Salary: £22,034 - £35,456 per annum, plus excellent benefits

Hours: PT, 29.5 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

Location: Exeter

Contract: Temporary to cover maternity leave

An exceptional opportunity has arisen to teach Sociology to cover maternity leave. Taught within the Faculty of Humanities, Sociology currently has a very large cohort of over 300 learners, the vast majority of which are 16-18 year old learners on AS and A level courses. We teach AQA Sociology, with modules currently offered in Family and Household, Education, and Crime and Deviance.

Applications are welcome from experienced teachers of Sociology or recently qualified teachers of the subject looking to start a career in teaching.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about Sociology and enthusing young people with it. The successful candidate will join a large wider humanities team who are dedicated to ensuring the delivery of high quality teaching and learning experiences across a number of subject areas. You will be supported and work alongside our dedicated Sociology teaching team and so a willingness to share practice and collaborate is vital.
