The Limelight development on Shrewsbury Street is a £21.5 million investment into the Old Trafford area.

Limelight opened in October 2017, and the community space features a cafe, pharmacy, health and wellbeing facilities, library, event spaces, nursery, opticians, hairdressers and more. Included in this building are 81 extra care residential apartments, providing older and more vulnerable people with high quality homes for them to live in independently.

And it’s working; the space is busy. We have visitors and residents eating in the café, accessing health and wellbeing services, reading in the library, dropping in for a cut and colour; and our Building Services Operatives are essential in making this happen, working within an already established, welcoming team.

This is a diverse and interesting role where every day truly is different. From setting up for a wedding to ensuring that Limelight is a safe building, you’ll play an important part in the Limelight operation.

You will be dynamic, energetic and organised. You’ll be a real people person and excited by the diversity Old Trafford has to offer. You might have already had experience of working in a community like this but if not, you’ll be keen to learn about the exciting array of cultures and religions.

You will be passionate about Limelight and committed to providing the very best customer service. You’ll bring experience within a service delivery sector, with a real eye for detail and the ability to prioritise. When you’re setting up for an event, you’ll want to make sure that Limelight looks it’s very best. You will be happy to assist with booking enquiries and support private hires such as weddings, drama workshops and even an animal farm!

You’ll always want to get stuck in and no job will be too big or too small. You’ll be happy to undertake caretaking duties because you really do want to take care of Limelight. So, whether that’s emptying bins, painting a wall or carrying out health and safety checks, each and every job will be done with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

The Limelight team trust and support each other. You might be locking up after a busy day or working on your own on a Sunday. You’ll be confident enough to take control or work with others and happy with the flexible working hours that the job requires.

It’s going to be demanding, it’s going to be busy, however it’s never going to be dull and you will be part of a fantastic team of people committed to delivering a ‘one-building’ approach.
