Formed in 1993, Skills Training UK is a leading provider of training and employability solutions. We are a Prime Contractor for the flagship ESF Workless Families programme for the DWP, and are also the Prime Contractor for two Youth Contracts for the Education and Skills Funding Agency.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Traineeship Trainer to join us in Birmingham.
In the role you will be responsible for the planning, delivery and development of our Traineeship Programme for 16-24 year olds, which consists of Employability Skills, Functional Skills in Maths and English, and a Business Admin vocational short-courses.
As a Trainer you will manage the classroom and learners, ensuring they are making progress through the programme, against specific. Delivering Employability Skills, Functional Skills (Maths and English) and Edexcel vocational short courses, you will motivate and inspire learners, develop an effective and engaging learning model and contribute to on-going development of schemes of work and curriculum plans.
We are looking for someone who has a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, DTLLS or PTTLS, coupled with a Maths and/or English qualification. With the ability and experience of working with 16 to 24 year olds and delivering up to and including Level 2 Functional Skills, you will have excellent communication skills and able to engage and develop professional relationships with young people with potentially challenging barriers and from diverse backgrounds.
An Assessors/Verification qualification would be advantageous, as would a Level 2 IAG qualification however is not essential.
