Marketing Communications Manager - 12 Month FTC

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Marketing Communications team for an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to be responsible for the management, development, production and execution of effective through the line marketing communications in line with the marketing strategy and tactical marketing plan on 12 month fixed term contract.

In addition, you will be accountable for ensuring that all communications adhere to brand guidelines, tone of voice and deliver creative excellence. This position is based in our Northampton offices (moving to Raunds in 2020) and will require some travel with overnight stays.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

•Manage, develop and deliver best in class marketing communications in line with the marketing strategy and tactical marketing plan. Ensuring that all campaigns and projects are delivered on time and within budget with consideration to wider business and marketing objectives.
•Implement robust processes across marketing activity for specific product categories, ensuring critical paths are up to date, costs are accurate, stakeholders are engaged and managed, and activity is delivered on time and within budget.
•Ensure all content aligns to brand and tone of voice guidelines, is consistent in terms of style and quality and delivers creative excellence.
•Develop and deliver innovative and successful ways to bring a product to market through the line, ensuring awareness of the expected commercial performance of product and ensure effectiveness is measured.
•Working with the wider marketing team to ensure that all content produced is optimised for all channels including on and offline.
•Supporting the senior team to define the marketing strategy and tactical plans determining which methods which work for the brand.
•Working together with the trade planning team to understand commercial and marketing objectives and develop and deliver marketing campaigns that support key objectives.
•Build, maintain and manage key stakeholder relationships across the business including; Supply, Field team, Depots, Product, Trade Planning, Brand and Marketing teams.
•Support and present as needed at key internal events such as product roadshows.
•Understand and develop briefs to ensure that the marketing activity supports key business priorities and manage and influence stakeholders as needed as part of this briefing process.
•Help developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies.
•Lead and manage customer insight in line with research teams to identify, propose recommendations and implement improvements to ensure the development of communications are ahead of competitors and designed in line with the changing need of the depot, builder and builder's customer.
•Working together with our analytics and insight teams to monitor the effectiveness of our marketing communications, leading to insight led creative that deliver positive ROI.
•Establishing work flow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content. Work with the team to implement within the appropriate product information management system (STEP) and content management system (Sitecore).
•Monitor the marketing budget and drive efficiencies to increase ROI.
•Manage relationships with external suppliers, brand partners and internal stakeholders to ensure they are involved at key decision points and have an input into the marketing and content strategy and plans.
•Ensure that all marketing activity is in line with legal and best practice requirements.
•Lead and develop direct reports through 121 and effective performance management.

Skills & experience

•Graduate standard or equivalent vocational qualifications or experience gained in a highly commercial, fast-paced, customer-focused environment
•Excellent knowledge of the complete TTL marketing mix with budget management - excel
•Excellent understanding of business commercials, return on investment and BTL marketing metrics
•Able to prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership team level including a high-level of competency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
•Experience of developing and implementing marketing materials ideally within a trade-only environment
•Track record of working across the spectrum of BTL marketing tools including literature and POS
•Experience in project-based environments as a manager responsible for planning, budgeting, and reporting who can successfully monitor ROI
•Competent communicator and ability to engage audiences at any level
•Established and proven man-management experience who takes pride in achieving success through the development of others
•A motivated self-starter who is highly creative and an innovative problem solver
