Passionate about great places to live, our client develops a range of new homes – for rent, shared ownership, and sale – while also providing housing management, care and support, and commercial property services.
They are currently seeking a Support Worker to join their team in Gloucester. You will need to have experience in working with people who are, or who have been, experiencing domestic abuse and have a clear understanding of coercive control and the impact of it on individuals and families.
You will offer support to service users identified through the helpdesk which involves carrying out an assessment of needs, assess the risk posed to them and provide advice around support pathways.
You will also be expected to create safety and support plans with women and men experiencing domestic abuse.
Previous experience in domestic abuse risk assessing is essential.
You will need to have relevant experience working with service users experiencing domestic abuse and should have an understanding of safeguarding principles. Experience in working with welfare, substance misuse, mental health, child protection and other complex issues would be advantageous, as would a working knowledge of community languages.
