They have a fantastic opportunity for a Key Account Manager, based in South Wales, ideally in the Cardiff or Swansea area.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Contracts, your role initially will be to establish their new contract quickly, ensuring commercial success, growing new business and building trusted long-term relationships with all 22 Local Authorities and their stakeholders. Ongoing, you will be responsible for:

• Continually building and growing a pipeline of opportunities, moving through the sales cycle from initial contact to closing the opportunity.
• Leading high value negotiations and resolving any issues effectively.
• Maximizing the potential of their trading customers, through proactive initiatives, strong communication and offer of products and solutions.
• Developing and implementing detailed and meaningful account plans.
• Driving usage of their digital SMART ordering platform.
• Being a brand ambassador within the marketplace, supporting events such as School Business Manager meetings, trade shows & customer advisory boards.
• Working closely with the internal support teams to ensure that their customers have the best possible support and the potential of commercial agreements is maximized.
• Reporting on and interpreting key customer and market metrics, using their CRM and other systems to better understand and manage customers’ trading behaviour.

• Proven successful account management experience.
• Experience of winning new business.
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trusted relationships, professionally and at all organisational levels within a customer’s structure.
• A confident, persuasive and professional manner.
• Ability to negotiate and problem solve.
• Ability to deliver engaging sales presentations.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of a digital business.
• Ability to work independently, collaboratively and as a team.
• Ambition to learn, develop a professional sales career and grow professionally.
• Drive and determination to achieve results and excellent standards
• Ability to speak and write in Welsh is desirable.
