A 12 month FTC is now available for facilities champions of the public sector. The role is based in a well known hospital in Cardiff. As operations manager, you will be responsible for managing soft services for the site.

Client Details

The client is local health board based on a large site in Cardiff. A listed building, the right operations manager will be responsible for one of Cardiff's best known sites.


The post holder will be directly accountable for the safe and effective delivery of the entire spectrum operational services. They are primarily responsible for the leadership, management and planning of domestic services, portering and catering services ensuring that services are in line with current and future clinical and patient developments.

The Operational Services Manager will also have responsibility for Hospital wide health and safety, business continuity and emergency planning.

Post holder will also have responsibility for ensuring winter contingencies are in place to ensure site is operational during extreme weather conditions.

The post holder will be required to deputise for the Director of Operations on matters relating to resources in the event of their absence.


Extensive experience in senior operational management of complex service delivery
Experience of managing a varied and complex soft FM service
Financial management experience
Extensive experience of managing large groups of staff and all the associated HR responsibilities of a manager at that level
High levels of experience in healthcare emergency planning and business continuity
Clear understanding of soft facilities legislation
Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
ISO/BSI Quality Management Systems experience
Experience of all aspects of operational services
Waste Management in a health care setting

Circa GBP40000 depending on experience
