Position: Family Support Worker
Location: HMP Wormwood Scrubs, London (commutable from Wembley, Stratford, Richmond, Twickenham % Bromley)
Job type: Part Time, Fixed Term Contract until 26 October 2020
Hours: 18.75 hours per week (including weekend working)
Salary: GBP10.55 per hour

About the role:

Have you got what it takes to support prisoners and their families?

As Family Support Worker at HMP Wormwood Scrubs you will work as one of the Pact Family team, you will be based primarily in the prison's visitor centre and visits hall providing support, advice and guidance to families visiting prisoners, facilitating prison visits and family days and supporting the play service.

About you:

- To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with families in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally involving offenders and / or their families.
- You will also have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding work load.
- You will have the ability to contribute to planning and development of Pact's family work and also have knowledge of safeguarding / child protection practice.
- You will be able to provide warm, human support and to ensure that children, families and prisoners are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy.

Other information:

This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, verification of identity and proven right to work in the UK, satisfactory HMPPS / MoJ Security Vetting and satisfactory employer references covering a minimum of 3 years.

This role involves weekend working.
