Our client is a rapidly expanding facilities management business and due to continued expansion they are now looking to recruit a commercially astute and technically competent Operations Manager with experience in the electrical trade.

This is a highly varied role that will cover project management, bid management, man management and business development. You will ensure that all the above activities are appropriately managed and controlled in order to best meet the requirements of the customer and that of the company. With respect to the Company, the above functions should be managed in the most cost effective and efficient way in and in accordance with the requirements of the business. The post holder will take an active role in the seeking and winning of new business and will have a target of GBP1 million of new business per annum at reasonable margins, exploring new market opportunities, partnerships and managing sub-contractors Be responsible for the timely preparation of bids and tenders for new work, negotiating and agreeing contracts and for the financial management and reporting on live contracts. Competencies & Skills Required:
• Must be very IT Literate, and a meticulous and well organised individual • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Certification • 18th Edition Wiring Inspection and Test Certification • An IOSH or NEBOSH Safety Qualification is preferred • Previous Electrical and Managerial Experience • A good understanding of IP (TCP/UDP) and analogue communication systems • Obtain Knowledge of the companies' products and compare with competitor products • Undertake Customer and Engineer training as and when required • Fully understands the Business Process of this type of company • Electrical engineering installation works experience • Able to undertake system design (Low Voltage Specialist Works such as Fire Systems, Communication Systems) and prepare technical specifications • Able to prepare schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and as fitted drawings • Able to prepare risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans • Carry out site inspections and carry out toolbox talks • A good understanding of contract terms related to the construction Industry • Have a can-do attitude and ability to solve all problems efficiently • Ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload and meet project deadlines • Evidence new ways of thinking which deliver benefits • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and able to deal with people at all levels both in and outside the business. • Able to analyse complex situations and give balanced well considered decisions. • A willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge through self-research and undertake further training when opportunities arise • Able to travel as required in UK and overseas • Clean UK driving license
