This role will be based from a stunning Central London office location
Salary: GBP50,000 - GBP52,000 DOE plus a 20% BONUS!

Our client is an award-winning organiser of international trade shows and conferences. They run over 150+ exhibitions and events each year globally, with many market leading conferences serving several key industry sectors. Their events are hosted globally including; Russia, USA, Malaysia, Brazil, Europe, Middle East and Asia!

As a result of their continued growth, this team are currently recruiting for a permanent new addition as a 'Senior Events Operations Manager' to oversee the delivery of an incredible portfolio of events, achieving operational excellence across each event.

JOB PURPOSE
To be responsible for, managing a team of operational professional to deliver exceptional Events. You will be responsible for ensuring you and your team achieve operational excellence across each event, fulfilling their strategy, ambition and vision. To ensure that each event is run efficiently, safely and follows all best practise guidelines, and that team members are developed and motivated to create the best events for the industry. Reporting into the Operations, Director, the Senior Operations Manager is expected to help coordinate, lead and facilitate departmental meetings, working groups and the roll out of Best Practice initiatives and blueprints for Event Operations.

JOB SPECIFICATION

To carry out all operational event organising duties, utilising a hands on approach for events where necessary and agreed with the Operations Director.
Managing your team and their delivery for all exhibitions & conferences within your portfolio, along with monitoring any Local Operations Managers, and all contractors.
To assist with the appointing and training of resource when required and to fully understand and influence methods of show delivery & to negotiate and appoint contractors where applicable in collaboration with the UK procurement team. Ensuring collaborative relationships with suppliers and contractors.
Management of the conference look and feel to a high standard, to include but not limited to: AV, sound, lighting, branding, catering
To co-ordinate and ensure, that "best practice" standards are being met and that the company's Health, Safety and Security procedures are in place and working on all shows. including but not limited to the completion of event safety plan, risk assessments and fire risk assessments. Understanding all aspects of the operational risks in detail, and managing these throughout the event cycle and onsite.
To ensure problem-free planning, exhibitor liaison, build-up, open days and breakdown for each event, providing the best possible customer service for all exhibitors and visitors.
Develop, adapt and improve services offered to exhibitors and visitors in line with show/department/company objectives.
In partnership with the Operations Director, formulate and fully control and operational budget.
Ensure there is a scheduled customer communications plan, alongside the Customer Success dept. advising delegates, exhibitors and sponsors at key stages of the event cycle.
To ensure that floor plan layouts meet the requirements of the individual exhibition based on their objectives and strategy.
To be responsible for managing and training any freelance/temporary members of the operations team.
Ensure the training, development and appraising (on a regular basis) of all operations staff, within the agreed portfolio
Manage Adhoc projects, both departmental or event related as directed by Operations Director.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Experience & Knowledge - Essential

5 years proven experience within Event Operations, managing both Large Scale Exhibitions and high-level Conferences globally
Detailed Conference production experience and knowledge (2 years minimum)
3 years + of Team management / Line management experience
Proven experience of budget management and efficiencies
IOSH Managing Safely certificate
Event risk management & awareness
Proven technical expertise
