PAYROLL MANAGER, EDINBURGH (GBP35,000 - GBP40,000)

Change Recruitment Group are currently working with a market leading business based in Edinburgh City Centre, in their search for a Senior Payroll professional to join their Head Office based Finance team. The role is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroller with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a standalone role to hold full autonomy & accountability for the Payroll function.

The role itself sits within a dynamic and growing business and will undoubtedly offer the post holder an opportunity to develop and shape the Payroll function as they see fit, whilst adding value to the wider business in all payroll related activities across the firm.

Principal responsibilities:

?? Overseeing the full start to finish running of the payroll
?? Full control of auto-enrolment, providing all relevant data and contributions for pension provider
?? Complete new start and leaver information
?? Updating salary and employment changes on to the system
?? Dealing with and resolving any queries from employees and management
?? Maintain payroll information by designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data
?? Reporting of RTI and HMRC
?? Calculate all statutory payments such as SSP, SMP etc
?? Responsible for preparing monthly KPI's, allowing for in depth analysis to be carried out across the Group
?? Liaise with HMRC and other relevant Government bodies regarding any tax issues
?? Liaison with external auditors
?? Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential

Required skills & experience:

?? A minimum of 5yrs experience operating in a similar Payroll position (ideally as Payroll Manager)
?? Proven experience in driving process improvements across a similar sized Payroll function
?? Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with senior management
?? Experienced working under pressure and to tight deadlines
?? Strong Excel skills

Possessing the relevant skills and experience that will allow you to hit the ground running will be key. Those on the upward curve of their career and hungry for progression will be most suited to the role, who will come with a fresh pair of eyes and can really make the role their own. Equally important though is the need to have a customer facing personality as the need to hold excellent communication skills will be paramount, with daily interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
