IT Helpdesk Assistant - Manchester

This is a great opportunity to join the IT Team of a leading national Law Firm, based in their Manchester Head Office. Primarily, the IT Helpdesk Assistant is responsible for troubleshooting 1st and 2nd Line IT Support issues but will also be involved in IT system development and IT projects.

A brief list of role responsibilities includes:

High quality provision of support on a range of IT technologies
Acting as the first port of contact for IT issues and ensuring they are logged correctly
Escalation of issues which cannot be resolved in accordance with SLA requirements and timeframes
Maintaining a problem owner focus to managing tickets
Perform IT administrative tasks as required.
Support and train other team membersSUMMARY

Job title: IT Helpdesk Assistant
Location: Manchester (some travel to other offices in Liverpool/London will be required to assist with support issues as needed.)
Hours: 35-40 hours/week - Monday to Friday - Rotating shift pattern 8am to 6pm.
Salary: GBP20,000 to GBP30,000

Previous Experience: Minimum 1 years' experience in IT Support - professional services experience will be beneficialTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The IT Helpdesk Assistant must be someone with an analytical approach to problem solving and a service orientated approach with excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills.

Skills essential to this role include:

Excellent working knowledge of Windows 7 / 10 and Office365
Sound working knowledge of Windows Server OS, Exchange Server, Active Directory, Group policy and networking fundamentals: DNS/DHCP; TCP/IP (including routers and switches)
Guidance-creation skills, with the ability to translate technical issues in a customer-friendly way.
Formal IT qualification/ degree eg MCSE will be advantageous
Ideally VMWare experience plus mobile phone support (iOS, Android, MDM)
Legal software/system experience would be useful but not mandatory
