Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning Apprenticeships
Duration of apprenticeship: 13 months

Salary: £3.90 per hour
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only
We are looking for a limited number of new staff who would like to begin their journey working with children in a school setting as a Teaching Assistant and would like an exciting opportunity to train whilst working in a school over the next 13 months.
The Education Impact Academy Trust has been established as a Multi Academy Trust by Wilson Stuart School. For many years now Wilson Stuart School has worked closely with University College Birmingham to provide outstanding opportunities for candidates to train as Teachers and Teaching Assistants whilst working within the school and we are very excited to advertise for a limited number of places for successful candidates to complete an Apprenticeship and train at Wilson Stuart School, Mayfield School and Queensbury School from Autumn 2019.
The Apprenticeship programme would involve working in one of the 3 schools and would require successful candidates to work for 29 hours a week in the school setting and then complete a 3.5 hour theory session with UCB staff weekly at Mayfield School.
Wilson Stuart School has been Ofsted Outstanding for 22 years and caters for children with complex physical and medical needs. In addition, many of the students have a range of learning needs. Based in Erdington, the school caters for over 300 students and has been an academy for 8 years and has formed the Education Impact Academy Trust.
Mayfield is a large special school based over two sites in Handsworth & Lozells which will be joining the Education Impact Academy Trust in 2020 and educates children and young adults between the ages of 2 -19 years who have a diverse range of learning needs. Our ASC pupils are based at Heathfield Road site and our SLD and PMLD site, on Wheeler Street, in a unique setting on a shared site with Lozells Primary and Holte Secondary schools. Both buildings have purpose built facilities to cater for the 286 pupils we have on roll.
Queensbury School is a Secondary Special school situated in Erdington and will also be joining the Education Impact Academy Trust in 2020. The School caters for up to 234 students aged between 11-19 years, who have Moderate Learning Difficulties. Many of our students have additional needs including communication and ASC needs.
The Education Impact Academy Trust is embarking on an exciting new chapter with new leadership teams in Mayfield and Queensbury Schools and we are seeking to appoint committed, hard-working, enthusiastic Apprentice Teaching Assistants who are able to train towards consistently demonstrating excellent classroom practice supporting the class teacher in meeting the individual needs of all pupils.
The successful candidates will join a large team of experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of pupils with a range of needs and dedicated to maximising pupil achievement. All staff are required to be flexible in their approach to working across all Key Stages.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
