Water Quality Sampler / Quality Control Water Sample Technician

Salary FTE  Salary £13,600 - £14,200 + benefits

Redhill, Surrey

Part Time - 24hrs a week (8-2pm Tuesday to Friday)

Our client supplies water to 707,000 people in the London Boroughs of Sutton, Merton, and Croydon, as well as across East Surrey and parts of Kent. They are a forward thinking, innovative company that is highly regarded for their efficiency and customer service.

They currently have an opportunity for a Water Quality Sampler to join their team.

Within this role you will be required to take water samples and conduct on-site tests from service reservoirs, treatment works, boreholes, river monitoring points and customer houses. Whilst collecting samples you will maintain accurate records of test results, time/ location details of samples. You may be required to assist with the investigation into customer water quality enquiries and complaints. Their samplers have to maintain detailed knowledge of all Company sampling procedures and relevant quality control procedures. You will be required to undergo training and pass a National Water Hygiene course and your performance will be regularly audited.

Their ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and ideally will have experience of dealing with customers face to face.  They are welcoming applications from candidates who are able to work alone and enjoy working outdoors as this is a demanding field based role where you will need to be physically fit. As lifting and moving items between the vehicle and sites being visited is essential to the role, you must be physically able to do this. It is also essential that you have a full manual driving licence and must be a competent IT user and be familiar with the use of mobile devices (e.g. smartphones / tablets).  Basic knowledge of plumbing systems would be a useful additional skill.
