The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling and management of all inventory/non-BOM parts while optimizing inventory levels and ensuring availability of materials in line with production requirements.
* Responsible for the scheduling and organisation of material into the manufacturing plant.
* Liaise with Planning & Operations on Supply/Demand issues.
* Work with Sales team on new product/customer introduction.
* End to end responsibility including; PO placement, PO tracking, expedite or de-expedite product as required, ensuring material availability at all times.
* Inventory Management-Understand and maintain the minimum necessary raw materials inventory and report on the status of inventory levels against inventory targets.
* 3PL management.
* Ensure agreed performance targets with suppliers are met, including on-time delivery and lead-time accuracy.
* Measure and report material shortages which are impacting the production plan and update on availability as required.
* Proactively engage with suppliers to deliver improvement initiatives focused on innovations and inventory reductions.
* Play a key role in assisting the Head of Purchasing in terms of purchasing for the site.
* Participate, drive and deliver on VE and CI projects across sites and also in group teams.
* Ensure adherence to purchasing Policies.
* Ensure all KPI's are met and are accurate.
* Generate and present daily / weekly / monthly reports and metrics as appropriate.
* responsible for the maintenance of the Site Packaging Bill Of Material data base
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role (experience in the food industry would be an advantage).
* Good knowledge of P.C. skills /MS excel /Materials related information systems.
* Strong planning, analytical and organizational skills
Key Skills and Characteristics Required:
* Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics/Business Discipline is desirable.
* Knowledge of supply chain/logistics processes and industry best practices.
* Understanding of relevant manufacturing Quality, Safety and Environmental standards
* Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Good planning and organizational skills with a flexible and can-do attitude
