Factory Maintenance Engineer / Plant Maintenance Technician – Steel Fabrication

This market leading reinforcement steel producer is at the forefront in the development and innovation of Cut & Bent Reinforcement.  Continued success and expansion have created this fantastic position for a full time, permanent Factory Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical engineering bias, to work in their purpose built state-of-the-art factory, to help support their growth and become an important member of the team.


LOCATION: Based at the factory in Sheerness, you should be living within daily commuting distance.  You may be looking for Mechanical Engineering jobs in the Isle of Sheppey, Sittingbourne, Faversham, Gillingham, Maidstone, Rainham Kent area.

SALARY:  £34,000 - £38,000 plus company benefits, pension, realistic career prospects, occupational healthcare, PPE & Tools provided, 21 days holiday, induction, inhouse training scheme.

HOURS:  Full Time 40 hours per week, overtime opportunities.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your role as Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Technician within the factory is vital to the smooth and uninterrupted running of the plant.  You will be part of a friendly, hardworking team responsible for providing planned maintenance and breakdown services, fault finding tasks, mechanical repairs and general servicing to the company’s vast machinery and equipment, to the highest possible standards, to help promote continuous improvement throughout the factory.

Energetic, self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative, your experience as a Factory Maintenance Engineer could have been gained in any large modern factory environment within the Manufacturing, Fabrication, Construction or Engineering industry.  You will possess a good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatics systems, numerate and IT literate, with good practical fault finding and diagnostic skills on industrial plant and PLC equipment.

Ideally with a recognised engineering qualification BTEC/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a time served apprenticeship, you will have a strong appreciation of health & safety, all-round technical aptitude, versatility and ability to turn your hand to ‘just about anything’.
