About the role 

Our client is currently looking for 3 Gas Engineers (Service and Breakdown) to deliver high quality gas servicing, responsive gas repairs, improvements, surveys and measurements efficiently and economically in accordance with the current Gas Safety Regulations. 

You will be responsible for carrying out repairs, improvements, surveys and measurements efficiently and economically in accordance with current working practices and all related health and safety legislation and good practice.

 

Key accountabilities of the role include: 

  • undertaking a range of planned, void or maintenance works, repairing or replacing items to maintain properties to a high standard, in-line with the role skills framework. Including producing gas safety certificates, servicing boilers and fires, and routing gas supplies as necessary to enable kitchen and other major refurbishments
  • completing works in conjunction with all health and safety procedures, policies and legislation
  • working efficiently and deliver high standards of quality
  • working unsupervised and in occupied or unoccupied properties, and complying with the expected Work Place Practice – Site Operatives guidance
  • being competent in the completion of reports, ordering materials and completing orders
  • delivering objectives and achieve behaviour competences
  • working in a professional, respectful and courteous manner.

 

About you

To be part of the team you will have an excellent understanding of the needs of their customers and the commitment to provide the very best service. You will have the skills and technical ability to repair and service modern gas boilers in a logical and methodical way and be able to work on your own with a minimum level of supervision, whilst working alongside the rest of the team to ensure it meets its targets.

As well as significant experience in gas servicing and repairs on modern gas condensing boilers, you should ideally hold as a minimum an S/NVQ in Domestic Gas Installation and Maintenance Level 3 or 6013, 6034, 6016, 6006 or City and Guilds 662 or 5980 Pts 1 & 2. You will need to hold current ACS accreditation in CCN1, CEN1, WAT1 (CENWAT), CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, UVHW. 

Within the role you will be expected to use a mobile tablet/device. Previous experience with this is beneficial however it is not essential as training will be provided. 

With good time management skills and communication skills you will maintain good relations with tenants and work without immediate supervision. 

You will be able to diagnose faults in a prompt manner as well as gathering information for records. You must be comfortable with working at heights and be available to work some evenings and weekends. You must also be available to take part in the out of hours rota. 

It is also important to us that you are confident, motivated team players, with a can do attitude.

Based in either Oxfordshire or Wiltshire, you will be travelling across our sites so you’ll need to be adaptable with a full driving licence, and a flexible approach to working hours.
