A Market Leader in the maintenance, service and repair of Rail Freight Wagons

Position Summary

We are looking for a Pro-Active Team Player to join a busy team responsible for the general maintenance and build of Rail Freight Wagons and their component parts
Working within an established team of Engineers, the role will involve the strip and build of Rail Freight Wagons, wheels and axles and their constituent components
The role will involve such procedures as Strip and build, de - corrosion, bearing, seal and bush removal and replacement therefore we are looking for someone who has a min of 6 -18 months experience of hands on tools work experience

Person Profile/Experience:

This would suit an aspiring mechanic looking for an opportunity to break in to the Rail Engineering Industry, ex Forces Engineers, Plant Maintenance, Facilities and/or Buildings Maintenance, Aerospace or Automotive Engineering skills will be suitable for this role

You will be physically fit and healthy, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required.

Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero tolerance policy re being under the influence of Drugs and/or Alcohol whilst on the Depot. Any infringements in this area will be dealt with swiftly by permanent removal from site

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 1 or 2 in a Mechanical Fitting skill set
Experience supersedes all
