Our client, a medium sized practice, based in Bedford, looking for an experienced bookkeeper to oversee VAT compliance and reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Duties will also include onboarding clients onto Xero and providing training and support as necessary. Whilst this role is mainly office based some travel to client premises is expected so own transport is essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to move into a managerial role within a genuinely friendly and team oriented working environment.
* To oversee and review staff and client preparation of VAT returns, EC sales listings, Intrastat Reports, and other filings
* To liaise with clients and obtain required documentation prior to submission deadlines
* To submit returns and liaise with HMRC
* To work with senior management in allocation and monitoring of work
* To onboard new clients onto Xero, providing training and ongoing support as necessary
* To liaise with clients and ensure MTD compliance
* AAT qualified or studying
* Xero experience advantageous
* An understanding of a wide range of VAT issues is more desirable that a highly specialist knowledge of one sector
* Well organized and self-motivated
