JOB BRIEF:
Our Client is looking for an experienced Machinist to undertake a variety of tasks within the machining department relating to:-
Setting, programming and operating a CNC Machining Centre.(Heidenhain Control)
Setting, programming and operating a CNC Takisawa Lathe. (Fanuc)
Milling.
Traditional centre lathes range from 2mts - 14mts.
Previous experience working within a heavy Engineering / Manufacturing backgroundROLE PURPOSE:
To work within an Engineering Manufacturing Environment machining high pressure seamless cylinders to a high quality and high standard.
To prepare mechanical test pieces for witness by outside inspectors. These will include Tensile and Charpy impacts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate as a team member in the development of projects
Proven experience as a Centre Lathe Machinist
Demonstrable ability to read Technical Drawings
Demonstrate ability to use calibrated measure equipment
Demonstrate ability to work to fine tolerances
Have great attention to detail
Hold a minimum of 3 years' experience in a machining role
Willing to work shifts and overtime on request PERSON PROFILE:
A sound education (or apprentice trained) in a manufacturing environment.
Flexible and experienced Machinist with excellent time management skills.
A good communicator with proven interpersonal skills and used to working in a team whilst also being capable of using own initiative.
Skilled In dealing with problems in a resourceful manner and negotiating to achieve beneficial agreement.
Flexible, motivated and a good communicator.
Enthusiastic to learn and undertake new challenges.
Flexible regarding working hours and able to work a range of shifts and Overtime as and when required
A positive, 'can do' attitude is essential
