About Our Client

Based in central Oxford, The Rhodes Trust is a global organisation who aim to use their well established and historic connections to bring together people of different backgrounds and viewpoints. They encourage them to openly debate and challenge each other's thinking to generate new ideas.

The Trust is made up of endowed charitable funds, trading subsidiaries and international charitable giving subsidiaries with the combined mission that articulates commitment to service, leadership and social impact. They are currently in the planning phase for a major building project and an impending further capital campaign. They are also in the development phase of two current, and one anticipated, partnerships and joint ventures that will continue to have a significant impact on the longer term strategic vision of the Trust.

Due to the current rate of growth and the anticipated capital campaigns the need has arisen for a new Senior Accountant to joining the evolving finance team.

Job Description

The key responsibilities for the Senior Accountant will be:

Quarterly departmental management reporting, to budget holders and funding partners;
Quarterly Board Summary management reporting;
Preparation of group financial accounts under UK Charities SORP, in collaboration and under the supervision of the Head of Accounting;
Working with US and UK tax accountants to provide supporting schedules and analysis as required for compliant tax reporting;
Some operational payroll management, liaison with out-sourced payroll function and staff costs budgeting.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Senior Accountant role will:

Be a CCAB qualified Accountant;
Have strong financial accounting experience either in International Charity, US or Group reporting;
Have high standards for delivering accurate information efficiently with attention to detail;
Have experience in developing reporting structures with a hands on approach;
Have an interest in Education and the third sector;
Knowledge and experience of Charities SORP is desirable but not essential.

What's on Offer

The Rhodes Trust is offering a salary range of GBP50,000 - 60,000 and membership of the USS pension scheme (19.5%)
