Policy Officer
This role is home based and then travel throughout the UK, could be mainly covering London etc however can reside in any location and could travel to other locations
This is an exciting opportunity to play a part in designing and delivery of the new Apprenticeship Standard in Public Sector Policy Officer.
The Professional Development framework for policy professionals sets out what skills a good policy maker needs to have and describes the journey from basic knowledge to skilled leader across 18 skill areas
The full requirements for each of these skill areas as a policy maker progresses form attaining the full breadth of knowledge across the range of skills (level 1|), evidence, attaining knowledge, analysis and use of evidence through to skilled practitioner level 2, Politics and Democracy, applying skills and onwards to effective policy leader level 3
You will work closely with the client to ensure programme delivery meets their needs and to support and guide learners through every stage of their journey, to end assessment
Develop a learning pathway that enables apprentices to work towards achievement of the standard
Observe ad review work produced by learners to ensure it is of the appropriate standard and that they stay on track to achieve the standard and succeed
Provide reports, documentation and management information
Completion of learner reviews
We are seeking someone who has experience in either being a Policy Officer or Administrator or Adviser or policy support, political affairs, public affairs officer, drafting officer or correspondence manager or someone who has perhaps been a Lecturer and used to dealing with policies or an Assessor who has been involved in the above duties and perhaps for the civil service or public sector environment
Track record of experience and involvement in the development, implementation and evaluation phases of policymaking
Able to build enthusiasm to groups within the Policy Officer profession
Ideally a Teachers qualification or TAQA or CAVA - not essential
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary GBP34,000
