In-house Litigation Lawyer
Location: Millennium Bridge, London
Position: Litigation Lawyer
Salary/Rate: Competitive

Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
The Adecco Group are currently recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to join our in-house legal team based here in our City head office.
Purpose:
To provide an efficient and comprehensive end-to-end litigation service to Adecco UK and Ireland (all respective brands and business units within the Adecco UK group) ("Adecco group").
Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
Management of a caseload of litigation files including;
Contentious client debt recovery;
Claims brought against the Adecco group;
Enforcement of restrictive covenants;
Breach of contract;
Trademark infringement and passing off.
Liaising with head office departments and branches to ensure the provision of an effective service whilst being conscious of client relations;
Exercising careful tact and judgement when dealing with (prospective) defendants and taking into account all relevant factors when reaching decisions;
Identifying the nature of any disputes and assessing the likelihood of success;
Negotiating settlements where court action is undesirable due to adverse risk or other circumstances;
Drafting statements of case and other legal documents as required;
Defending any claims and counterclaims brought against Adecco group following the issue of proceedings;
Making interim applications for summary judgement/further information/advanced disclosure where possible to facilitate the prompt resolution of a case;
Adherence to all timescales set down by the Court;
Advocacy or attendance at the County Court;
Enforcement of judgements through the most appropriate means (e.g. bailiffs, charging orders, attachment of earnings);
Maintaining a log of active/closed cases (format to be agreed) that will enable reports to be produced on claims issued, costs incurred etc;
Providing tailored legal advice in response to queries received via the Litigation Help-desk.Ideal qualifications, experience and personal qualities:
Qualified lawyer i.e. Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX (Chartered Legal Executive)
A minimum of three years' experience of managing a litigation caseload, dealing with matters from initial instruction to conclusion (via settlement and/or to trial as appropriate);
Experience of drafting pre-action correspondence, court documentation, including but not limited to particulars of claim, defences and witness statements.
Excellent knowledge and clear understanding of contract law and County Court processes (including small claims, fast track and multi-track claims);
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely verbally and in writing;
Ability to keep abreast of relevant changes to law or Civil Procedure Rules;
Ability to work autonomously without supervision.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to use initiative when appropriate.
Good organisation skills, ability to balance competing priorities across a broad range of clients and work effectively under pressure.
High degree of self-motivation and ability to work to set deadlines;
Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel;
Excellent numeracy, literacy and grammar;
Ability to negotiate via telephone and/or in person with external parties to bring matters to a successful conclusion;
Be able to work as part of a team;
